The Challenge
CFPB was created by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010. As a stand-alone Bureau that initially grew out of the Treasury Department and a variety of other consolidated agencies, the organization was given one year to stand-up its organizational structure, systems, and processes- all while hiring, integrating, and onboarding hundreds of employees!
The Solution
With an endeavor as ambitious as CFPB’s, FMP jumped in to assist with all things human resources related. We did everything from hiring, to classification, staffing, recruitment, selection, onboarding, and training. In our 8 years working with CFPB, some notable highlights include developing best-in-class human capital policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs), supporting the Bureau’s first Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA); creating and administering an Awards and Recognition Program; facilitating the redesign of CFPB’s Performance Management system; and designing and delivering a robust employee onboarding program.
The Result
FMP’s support allowed for CFPB to track and reduce the average completion times for every step of the hiring process and successfully plan for future workload and onboarding logistics- all while successfully bringing onboard and training an astounding 900 new employees in 15 months-time!
