The Challenge
In 2021 the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) elected to begin administering the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) internally. While they were eager to have greater control over their data and subsequent analyses, the SEC also wanted to maintain confidentiality for individual responses. However, the implementation, tracking, analysis, and visualization development associated with administering the survey was no small task.
The Solution
The SEC brought on FMP to oversee the management of the FEVS beginning in 2021. FMP consults with the SEC annually to ensure the FEVS meets OPM requirements and includes items tailored for the SEC. FMP then conducts in– depth analyses on various components of the FEVS and presents the information to the SEC in an easily understood yet descriptive format. Finally, FMP supported SEC as they transferred from an outdated legacy dashboard system to PowerBI, providing the SEC with more control over the interface and better analysis of data.
The Result
With the help of FMP, the SEC has fully moved to the PowerBI system and is better equipped to store and analyze the data from FEVS and make management decisions accordingly. Many of these processes are now automated, providing efficiency in both time and costs year-over-year. FMP continues to work closely with the SEC, administering the survey each year, adding new features to enhance the existing PowerBI, and providing advanced analytical support to ensure the SEC derives as much value as possible from this initiative.
